The Task:
To rationalise the Turtle Mat website and make it more search engine and user friendly and to improve conversions and order value.
How we did it
Search engine friendly
Friendly URLs were used, ensuring that they were relevant, short and in plain English. This not only makes the site easier to negotiate for the user but also allows search engine’s to index them quickly, making high rankings easier to achieve in a shorter space of time.
Each product was given its own page. This not only helps the user but also gives search engines focused and rich content to pick up on.
Datadial are also responsible for the ongoing promotion of the site in search engines and social media forums.
Usability
The menu structure was reorganised to give greater clarity as to the many uses of mat on offer and at a glance. The previous menu system was based on a categorisation that only regular Turtlemat customers could understand.
Trust building
Order line telephone number and credit card logo’s (trust points) were also placed on each page in order to reassure the users who do not know the company are assured that the site is reputable and trust worthy.
3rd Party Integration
Datadial also tailored its e-commerce software to ensure that it was compatible with the systems used by the external fulfilment house usedk, Data-doc (formerly Braywood) by Turtle Mat.
User control
In addition to the above the site is fully updateable by Turtle Mat, meaning that they have full control over the site at all times, and they are able edit or add details when required as well as being able to create offers when the opportunity arises.
Reporting
And last but by no means least, Datadial provides full comprehensive reports charting traffic sources, keyword progress, visitor breakdown and goal conversion rates to name but a few.
Results
Statistics: Six Weeks in
- The Turtle Mat site now enjoy top ranking in Google for all of its keywords
- 75% of all traffic now comes from search engines
- Order volume and value has increased by over 15%
- Since going live 6 weeks ago conversion rates have increased 2 fold
