Conversion rate up 5%. Traffic doubles and still so much to do
This site and its cousin site www.ppcgb.com have over 25,000 products listed. In 2011 we have been working on conversion rate optimisation on this site. Simple changes to the check out process have had a 5% increase on conversion rates. This has a resulted in a remarkable return on a small investment.
In 2008 We redesigned the site so that it was even more search engine friendly, the number of pages being indexed and ranked in Google increased to 70,000 and visitor traffic doubled in the first six months.
Originally for just Porsche parts the site now has over 10,000 products for many prestige brands. The site undergoes constant improvements and amendments to improve usability and to increase conversion rates.
Design 911 have been with Datadial since 1998. We have been involved in the steady growth of their online business in this time.
In rebuilding the site we were able to make sure that the underlying architecture of the database and categorisation of products was 100% search engine friendly. Each product now has its own page and own friendly url. This has been essential for ensuring that the site ranks for long tail phrases and specific car part names.
Usability and conversion rates
This is a large site with over 10,000 products so it is essential that users can find the right part for their make and model of car as easily as possible. Through click tracking and customer surveys we have assessed customer behaviour on the site and have made changes to significantly improve conversion rates. This has included changing the position and colour of "Add to basket" buttons, changing the colour of the menus, adding a "fast product finder" for those people who know what they are looking for, as well as a widget to identify tyre codes. The site is under constant review to explore ways to increase conversion rates, (as every site should be.)
The website sales continue to increase month on month - this is definitely a company in the fast lane.
